Livestock in Tel-Kocer...Lack of rangeland ,negligence of public bodies

The residents of Tel- Kocer district and its countryside depend on raising livestock in their daily lives. Livestock is the main source of the economy of the region and is dependent on 90% of the population, especially in the countryside of the district.

Livestock are generally raised in villages and are in the form of flocks. Most families have their own herd, and the number of cattle in each herd varies from family to family. This wealth is the main source of meat, milk, cheese and wool in the region.

Livestock breeders market their dairy products to the Tel -Kocer markets or to nearby markets such as Girke-Lege, Ramaylan, Derik and Gel-Agha. In addition to the presence of markets for livestock in the countryside.

Livestock breeders rely mainly on natural pastures, and store locally grown feed from the seasons of wheat, barley, chickpeas, lentils and others.

Lack of rains and declining pasture, they worry about livestock breeders

The pasture has been a concern for livestock breeders over the past few years, where the proportion of pastures is lower for other crops. There are no centers concerned with livestock, and no feed centers

Citizen Saleh al-Ali fears and most of the cattle breeders in Tel-Kocer district and its countryside are also fearing . The compounding of livestock breeders also is the lack of livestock centers or feed centers to help livestock breeders provide the necessary feed.

Livestock breeders appealed to the concerned authorities to open centers for livestock, as well as to open feed centers to assist livestock farmers and encourage them to develop the livestock sector.

A livestock office has been opened soon

Officials at Agriculture Office in Tel-Kocer  turn, confirmed their understanding of the concerns of livestock breeders. They said that several service centers were destroyed during the period of control by the mercenary gangs on Tel-Kocer .

The officials confirmed that Agriculture Office is opening a special center for livestock in Tel-Kocer district to identify the problems of livestock breeders and work to secure their requirements and support the livestock sector.
