Berxwedan camp's refugee organize themselves with commune life

Berxwedan camp was established on 24 March in order to embrace the families of those forced to leave Afrin as a result of the aggression of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries for fear of committing massacres against them.

In Berxwedan camp, more than 4,000 civilians live in 800 tents. The residents organized themselves through 14 communes, each with 50-75 tents.

After Rojava Revolution took place on July 19, Rojava people and then North Syria adopted their system of existence on the basis of the commune system as co-existence and cooperative living system to protect against the attacks of the dictatorial and capitalist countries.

Throughout the years of the revolution, the people of Afrin have learned to live within the communes and rule themselves, so they have not been invited to emigrate outside their city, and to stay in the camps to hit their own system of life. Now they organize themselves as co-ordinates who cooperate in securing aid from relief committees and distributing them to each other.

Afrin people, who organize themselves within the communes, demanding that the international community pay attention to them, build their camps and provide the necessary support, where they need life and living necessities in the absence of any international relief aid.
