Opening first Women's Market in Rojava, North Syria

A ceremony was held on Monday to mark the opening of the market, in which hundreds of women from Derik and representatives of civil society organizations, councils and communes participated in the area.

The Women's Market" was inaugurated by the Women's Economic Commission in Derik city, in addition to a series of women's associations and unions in the area of ​​women's economic commune.

Before the beginning of the ceremony, the audience stopped a minute of silence, and then the administrator at Kongra Star in al-Jazeera region  Walida Bouti word said "The real economy is based on ethics, work and hard work, the color of women who have been avant-garde and pioneer in the development of the economy throughout history, the capitalist systems have transformed the economy that developed," she said. And added her speech saying " By virtue philosophy and thought of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocelan, women have organized themselves in all fields economically, politically, militarily, and others. She noted “Rojava Revolution, named after the revolution of women, is proof of their ability to go into all fields and rely on themselves and break the masculine mentality that oppressed women and hindered the development of women. We are opening several projects that serve the economy of the country in general, developing the economy, standing up to the merchants and building an integrated social and economic economy ".

After that, the Young Women section of the Judy group of the Dijla Center for Culture and Art in Derik presented a bouquet of folkloric songs.

After that the band was cut by martyrs' mothers to announce the opening of the market officially.

The market includes 21 shops run by women and all people have the right to shop and buy their supplies.
