Afrin Yazidi will not be able to celebrate their anniversary this year!

A number of members of Yazidi community expressed their indignation at the violations of Turkish occupation army against them, stressing that they will not be able to celebrate "Red Wednesday" or Kurdish New Year after the Turkish army dispersed the masses in the villages of Yazidi Afrin.

In addition, Turkish occupation army destroyed the Yezidi shrines in Afrin, including the shrine of al-Sheikh Barakat on the summit of Mount al-Sheikh Barakat. These shrines were a destination for Yazidis on this day, as part of Festival rites.

In addition, sources told ANHA earlier that the occupation army inforces the Yezidis to convert to Islam and build mosques in Yezidi villages, including Qastal Jendo village.

"In the past years, we celebrated our religious holidays and practiced our rituals by providing food and offering sacrifice," said Zeinab Jafar, a resident of the      Faqera village in Janders district.

Zainab stressed that they continue to adhere to their belief and keep it, and all hope to return to Afrin to practice the rituals of this day next year.

Mustafa Husain, from Ain Dara village, said that Turkish occupation and its gangs of ISIS who had a strong hatred for Yezidis. "This was clear in Sengal and now they are repeating it in Afrin in order to end our existence, we can not celebrate our day and visit our shrines, he said.

"We complain of the injustice of the enemies to Allah, who do not respect the beliefs, and look at us as infidels."

In the same context, Asad Marko from Faqera village "Tomorrow is "Red Wednesday", which has a special place among the members of Yazidi community, and we take pride in the rituals we perform on this religious occasion by visiting the shrine and offering sacrifice, distribution of sweets, and Yezidi people did not oppose any others religion, but they are under pressure from the gangs and Turkish occupation army, which aims to enrich our history and our religion.

"Because of the brutal attacks we were subjected to by Turkish occupation, we will not be able to celebrate our day, the world does not care about the actions of the occupation and the mercenaries against us," Marco said.

According to Yezidi belief, "Red Wednesday" is festival of creation, the beginning of life, the formation of earth and the completion of spring, and "Archangel" was sent by the Lord to the land that was a mirage to turn it into a living land of water and dust as it is, where spring in bright colors, and that was on Red Wednesday, according to Yezidi religion.
