Afrin people in al-Shahba organize themselves

About 400 families or 2,800 persons form Afrin people existing in the center of Tel-Rifat district and its villages "Tel-Ajar, Kefr Anton, Sheikh Issa" who have been staying since 18 March organize themselves by communes.

The communes were formed by people in cooperation with the local council in Tel-Rifat district which was formed on 18 March composed of Afrin and al-Shahab's people, where 12 communes have been formed in Tel-Rifat and in vicinity villages and the tasks are distributed to them and they are about forming two new communes.

Communes consist of Afrin people and provide assistance and facilities to Afrin people and help them to find houses to the people to show the spirit of cooperation among the people.

The communes also work to secure bread, water, baby milk and relief items for the people. It also plays an important role in protecting the region from attacks and standing in the way of theft.

A member of one of the commune Farida Habash, said that they are working in commune during the week, within an official time starting from 8 am to 6 pm, and that the children's needs are being provided for children's milk, water and bread, in addition to aid and food.

A member of the Afrin canton council Mousa Malla Rasheed, noted that Tel –Rifat was overcrowded as a council that plays its role in the organization and that 12 communes composed of the co-chairs and committees, were activated in cooperation with the residents.

She added that as a council, they make efforts to serve the people, and that it will activate other two communes because of the need, stressing that they are working to extend the electricity grid in the next few days, to facilitate the daily lives of the people.
