Al-Hisha town's people demand to stop their suffering

Water drinking, irrigation and al-Hisha town and about 17 villages were cut due to stop the pump of the lifiting  the water from Tel-Saman , the pump disrupted by sabotage operations carried out by  mercenaries before fleeing the area and leaving hundreds of hectares of the town's land and villages barren and desert.

Al-Hisha people and their villages walk to 20 kilometers to get drinking water from the irrigation channel or pay money to buy water from the owners of private tanks at 1000 pounds per 1000 liters of water, which may not be suitable for drinking sometimes.

The residents of the town had only to dig wells inside the houses to extract salt water, perhaps would only save them the suffering by providing part of the water consumed for the irrigation of livestock or other household purposes. With the arrival of summer and high temperature will push the people in the region to double the quantities of water consumed, an obstacle to the people and an increase in their fears.

All these problems on the one hand and the adoption of the people of the town on the other hand on agriculture in the first place and stop with the interruption of water, which prompted some parents to leave their homes and head to neighboring villages where agriculture is available during the main seasons of agriculture.

Hawar news agency (ANHA) toured in al-Hisha town and interviewed with Mohammed al-Ayed said " We pay daily money to secure the water and we have no source of income to save money but agriculture, which has stopped with the cut off of water for more than two years."

In a related context, citizen Fodah al-Ali said they are thinking of migrating from the town to areas where drinking water and agriculture because they cannot buy water on a daily basis.

The Co-chair of al-Hisha municipality Hamidi Abdel mohmmed said  "The problem of drinking water will not be solved until after the repair of the lifting pump. As it brings the water to the irrigation pump feeds the town with irrigation and drinking water during the previous period, we toured the pump with specialized engineers to detect pump faults, where the work of the main organs and the need for maintenance and the extension of a new electricity network and evaluation of the reform of 20 million Syrian pounds for rehabilitation.

Residents of the town appealed to concerned and humanitarian organizations to accelerate the repair of the pump.

The Irrigation Committee, which is affiliated with the Economic Committee of the al-Raqqa Civil Council, has operated the Ber al-Hashim’s well pump during the month. The committee confirmed earlier that the rehabilitation of Ber al-Hashim area’s pump is a step towards rehabilitating the Tel-Saman.
