Demo in Qamişlo supported Afrin's resistance, condemned Ocalan's isolation

Hundreds of people from Qamişlo canton organized on Wednesday a massive demonstration to support the Resistance of the Age which shown by People and Women Protection Units (YPG, YPJ) in the second stage against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in Afrin, and to denounce the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The demonstrators held Abdullah Ocalan's pictures, the pictures of the Resistance of the Age's martyrs and the flags of People and Women Protection Units in addition to banners with "Freedom of the leader Ocalan is the freedom of the people, we demand disclosing the fate of the leader Ocalan and allowing his lawyers and family to visit him, and we will destroy the fascist Imrali regime to live free with the leader Ocalan” written on.

The demonstration launched from Othman Sabri Square in Heliliya neighborhood and went through the main streets in Qamişlo city amid the demonstrators’ chanting the slogans that condemn the Turkish occupation of Afrin which says "No Life without the Leader."

The demonstration was stopped at March 12 Martyrs Stadium in al-Siyahi neighborhood in Qamişlo city where the demonstrators held a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs' souls.

Then, the administrator in the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) in Qamişlo city Firoushah Ramadan said, "We promise the leader of humanity, peace and democracy, and the leader of the peoples’ fraternity Abdullah Ocalan to destroy the imperialist regime."

Firoushah Ramadan concluded, "We will triumph in Afrin and in every other part of North Syria certainly, and the Resistance of the Age that carries out operations against the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries would prove that in the coming days."

Furthermore, the demonstration ended with chanting the slogans which salute the Resistance of the Age and call for Ocalan's freedom.
