Human Rights Watch: Turkish mercenaries loot civilian's properties

Human Rights Watch Organization noted that the mercenary gangs working with the Turkish army are looting and destroying the civilian's properties in Afrin city and its surrounding villages, and it confirmed that the civilians' state that displaced Afrin is bad.

Human Rights Watch said in a report that the Syrian regime is preventing some civilians fleeing the Turkish military operations in Afrin from entering the lands under its control.

It also noted that mercenary gangs working with the Turkish army are looting and destroying the civilians’ properties in Afrin city and its surrounding villages, and that exacerbates the civilians' suffering there.

The director's deputy of the organization's Middle East department Lama Faqih said, "Although the humanitarian conditions of all civilians who fled the fighting in Afrin are dire, those who are deprived of reaching the areas controlled by the Syrian regime and who are suffering from looting their properties are particularly threatened."

The organization quoted from the people who tried to enter the areas under the Syrian regime'control saying that the people working at the government checkpoints were asking 500 thousand Syrian pounds ($ 1,000) to allow them to go those areas.
