Mines clearance teams … save hundreds of inevitable death

Mines are one of the most hampered by IS mercenaries who have planted them in many streets, buildings and homes.

The mines have many types, including a sensitive mine, a laser mine, a submersible mine that explodes through pressure, explosive belts, bullets and launchers, each of these mines has a method of explosion and a method of destruction.

After the liberation of al-Raqqa city by Syrian Democratic Forces, specialized demining teams began dismantling mines and improvised explosive devices, as the first liberated neighborhood in al-Mushleb neighborhood city, which lies east of the city, the engineering teams cleaned the neighborhood completely.

The mechanism of work of engineering teams through the provision of parents request to the Council of the neighborhood, and in turn the Council to inform the internal security forces in the city.

Hawar news agency met with administrator of specialized engineering in mine clearance in al-Raqqa city Omar Ali, who explained the mechanism of teams work and how to communicate with the people.

Al Ali said, "We have been working in al-Raqqa since 5 months, where we started work at the beginning with cleaning buildings, institutions and councils to manage the affairs of people."

"If the residents doubt that a mine is present, they apply to the neighborhood council, where the request is submitted to Internal Security Forces in al-Raqqa, and then the engineering teams proceed to dismantle and remove the mines," al-Ali said.

Al- Ali pointed out that the percentage of areas and neighborhoods that were cleaned in al-Raqqa the city reached to 90%.

At the end of his speech al- Ali stressed that they continue to work tirelessly as they work to serve the people and protect them.
