15 Iraqi families leave Roj Camp for their homeland

As part of an organized repatriation process coordinated between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the relevant bodies in the Iraqi government, represented by the Security Committee and the Migration and Displacement Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, 15 Iraqi families, including 67 individuals, departed today from Roj Camp in the countryside of Derik, in the Jazira Canton, heading to Iraq.

Special buses were prepared to transport the families, in line with ongoing agreements between both sides regarding the return of Iraqis to their country after completing the necessary security and administrative procedures, which include file verification and legal status assessment for each individual.

This is the second group of repatriations from Roj Camp, following the first group that was transferred on February 11, which included 44 Iraqi families.

It is worth noting that Roj Camp, established in Derik on June 24, 2015, hosts a large number of families of ISIS mercenaries, most of whom are from European countries, in addition to Iraqis and Syrians. The camp currently houses 2,664 individuals from 861 families.
