The attacks and assassination crimes carried out by the Turkish occupation state on southern Kurdistan since the beginning of 2024 caused the death and injury of 13 people.

In light of Baghdad and Hewler remaining silent regarding the attacks of the Turkish occupation state on the regions of southern Kurdistan, these attacks have caused the death of 9 civilians and the injury of 4 others since the beginning of 2024.

In this regard, Roj News Agency published statistics of the attacks and assassinations carried out by the Turkish occupation state since the beginning of this year:

On January 18, activist Faryal Suleiman (Zelal Ceger) was assassinated by gunmen riding a motorcycle in the Sarganar neighborhood in the city of Kirkuk, where she was in southern Kurdistan to visit organizations concerned with women’s affairs.

February 20, a Turkish occupation state drone bombed Mount Sayar in the village of Kafya in the Dinart area of ​​Agrî, leading to the martyrdom of two citizens and 2 Peshmerga members Arif Taha (61 years old) and Bashir Omar Ali (68 years old), and another citizen was injured.

On the 29th of the same month, the Turkish occupation state bombed a car belonging to the Martyrs’ Families Council Committee in Şengal, which led to the martyrdom of citizen Saadoun Mirza Ali, a father of 3 children.

On the same day, the Turkish occupation state carried out an armed attack on 60 Meter Street in front of Debashan Restaurant, in Sulaymaniyah, which led to the martyrdom of Dr. Abdul Qadir Sabri Toprak, a resident of Bidlis in northern Kurdistan. He was a member of the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party, where he was displaced to southern Kurdistan and stayed in Sulaymaniyah since Nearly 13 years due to political issues. He worked in a hospital and was threatened many times by Turkish intelligence before they assassinated him.

On March 8, warplanes belonging to the Turkish occupation army bombed the village of Dayuka within the borders of the town of Shiladzi in Dohuk, which led to the martyrdom of citizens Araz Faraj (29 years old) and Saeed Mubarak (35 years old), in addition to wounding the latter’s brother, Saleh Mubarak.

On the same day, the Turkish occupation state bombed Şengal district with a drone, which led to the martyrdom of Şengal Protection Units member Majdal Hassan Khalaf.

On April 2, a Turkish occupation state drone bombed a car near Sardasht camp in Şengal district, wounding two citizens.

It also bombed a house in the Shahrbajir area of ​​Sulaymaniyah, which led to the martyrdom of the young man, Muhammad Saeed.

Despite the continuing crimes and massacres committed by the Turkish occupation and its violation of the sovereignty of the southern Kurdistan and Iraq, the caretaker governments of southern Kurdistan and the central government continue their silence regarding these crimes.
