13 killed and injured by explosion in Syrian desert

Seven people were killed and six others injured following a car explosion in the Syrian desert, approximately 150 km east of As-Suwayda city. Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the nature of the explosion.

A car exploded in the Al-Hamad area of the Syrian desert, approximately 150 km east of As-Suwayda city, while driving through the area. Eyewitnesses suggest that the explosion was caused by landmines planted by ISIS sleeper cells, while others indicated that the vehicle was targeted.

According to sources, including the As-Suwayda 24 website, seven people were confirmed dead, and five others sustained varying injuries. The injured were transported to hospitals in As-Suwayda.

Hospital records in As-Suwayda identified three of the victims: Alaa Awad Al-Nader, Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Roumi (from Al-Mazraa town), and Aliyan Al-Shabbat.

The sources also confirmed the identities of all the injured, who include: Mohammed Awad Al-Nader, Khaled Ouda Al-Tawil, Hassan Eid Dheeb, Shalash Hussein Abu Shahtoul, Qusai Abdul Rahman Khudr, and Tamam Fadi Bali. Their injuries vary in severity, with some in critical condition due to shrapnel wounds.
