The Zenobia Women’s Gathering organized a special cultural event at the Cultural Center Hall in the city center of Raqqa to highlight the content of Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s message to women on March 8, in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The event was attended by members of the council and women’s organizations, along with representatives from community initiatives and civil institutions, in a gathering that combined awareness and dialogue about the role of women in building society.

The event began with a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs' souls. Afterward, Asinat Muhammad, a member of the Zenobia Women’s Gathering Council in Raqqa, spoke about Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s message and its connection to the culture of sati.

She pointed out, “Today, we live under the influence of four main cultures, as Leader Abdullah Ocalan has said,” and stressed, “We must organize ourselves to eliminate the culture of sexual assault and murder, and to put an end to massacres and the suppression of freedoms. Today, the whole world is discussing the issue of sati culture, especially concerning the role of mothers in building more just and humane societies.”

Asinat Muhammad continued her speech, saying, “Women should continue organizing such awareness-raising events to enhance women’s awareness and empowerment, because a society where women strengthen their role is a society capable of achieving true liberation.”

She also addressed the concept of renaissance, affirming that “renaissance is a new birth. Just as freedom triumphed in the European Renaissance, the renaissance initiated by Leader Abdullah Ocalan has provided a victory for women, making them active participants in building society.”

During the event, the focus was on the content of Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s message, which emphasized the need for women to organize themselves and actively engage in the struggle for their rights, with a focus on justice and equality as the foundation for building a free and tolerant society.

The attendees also discussed ways to strengthen women’s roles in various fields, whether social, political, or cultural, to achieve the desired change.

The event concluded with recommendations calling for intensified efforts to spread awareness among women, enhance their participation in decision-making, and work toward building a society based on the principles of freedom and equality, in line with Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s vision and his call for women’s liberation as a fundamental step toward the liberation of society as a whole.
