The Zenobia Women's Gathering Council in Raqqa, with the presence of many women and members of women's organizations, issued a statement regarding the massacres and violations being committed against the people and civilians in the Syrian coast.

The statement was read in front of the Cultural Center in Raqqa by Betoul Al-Issa, the Administrative Officer of the Training Committee in the Zenobia Women's Gathering Council.

The statement expressed strong condemnation and denouncement of "the terrorist acts that have targeted our people and brothers in the Syrian coast," which have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians, including women and children.

The statement affirmed that these crimes represent a clear and blatant violation of all international norms and laws established to protect civilians.

It clarified that these crimes are "desperate attempts" to sow discord and ignite sectarian wars among the Syrian people, serving the interests of the Turkish occupation and the agenda aimed at obstructing the building of a democratic Syria.

The statement added: "The Damascus government’s failure to properly assess the situation and the diversity among the Syrian people’s components has led to these massacres against the people and civilians in the Syrian coast."

While the Zenobia Women's Gathering condemned the international silence regarding what Syrians in the coast are facing, it called on the international community and human rights organizations "to take full moral and legal responsibility toward our people."

The statement also demanded the formation of fact-finding committees and the prosecution of those who committed these crimes with the harshest penalties. It stated: "We affirm to our people and brothers in the Syrian coast that we stand by them and support them, and that we will remain united and a voice for truth and justice. We will continue working together to protect the rights of the Syrian people in all their components and to safeguard Syrian territory."

The gathering stressed: "We will stand against anyone who tries to destabilize our security, shed innocent blood, and violate their rights. Through our unity, we will prove to the whole world our people’s ability to resist and sacrifice to preserve their land and the dignity of their people."
