Zeinab Murad: Damascus government has obligation to listen to Kurdish position

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) co-chair, Zeinab Murad, spoke to ANHA about the result of the Kurdish Unity Conference in Rojava Kurdistan, which was held on April 26.

Zeinab Murad congratulated Kurdish unity in Rojava and deemed it a huge achievement for the Kurdish people in general and for Rojava in particular, calling it a historic step. She stated that this conference will be a strong pillar for Syria's future and for Kurds to achieve their rights.

Zeinab Murad stated, "This conference will grant enormous power to the people and political forces inside and outside Kurdistan, and even to the international community, which is following this issue closely."

Zeinab Murad added that since the establishment of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria, the region has been going through a new period, and this period can become a cornerstone for the future of Syria.

Zeinab Murad also declared that the Kurdish question is interconnected in all parts of Kurdistan, and that this conference will have an impact on the other three parts as well. She remarked, "Just as we saw how the message of Leader Abdullah Ocalan's 'Peace and a Democratic Society' has had an impact, this conference will also have an impact. So we can say that this conference is a step that is required for bringing general national conferences about in Kurdistan."

Zeinab Murad emphasized the necessity of implementing the conference decisions and maintaining Kurdish unity and position in Rojava, and that everyone is obligated: politicians, civil society, and all components. She continued, saying, "This responsibility does not only fall on the people of Rojava, but on all of Kurdistan, and these decisions can be strongly and strongly brought to the diplomatic and international arena."

Zeinab Murad noted, "After the fall of the Ba'ath regime and the occupation of the current authority, the so-called National Dialogue Conference was held and a transitional constitution was announced that does not serve the Syrian people and has caused widespread resentment within and outside of Syrian society."

The co-chair of the Kurdistan National Congress emphasized, "The Damascus authorities are now obligated to listen to the voice and position of the Kurds, for they are the guarantee of success in this phase. The Kurds have experience and a solution project, and this project will allow many other forces to link with them. There is no power in Syria that can disregard them at this time."
