YPJ plays a key role in sweeping operation in Hasakah

The Syrian Democratic Forces, in cooperation with the Internal Security Forces and the Women's Protection Units, initiated a sweeping operation in al-Hasakah city to track down ISIS sleeper cells. The operation targeted the dismantling of logistical support networks for the militants and aimed to prevent any planned attacks targeting prisons and detention centers. So far, 39 individuals suspected of being involved with ISIS cells or collaborating with them have been arrested.

The Women's Protection Units are actively participating in the operation, playing a pivotal role in searching women and houses inhabited by families, in addition to their presence alongside other fighters in various neighborhoods of the city. This reflects a high level of coordination and integration among the forces.

Female fighters from the Women's Protection Units participating in the operation affirmed that their involvement is part of the units' ongoing mission to protect the community and reinforce the presence of women as fundamental partners in maintaining security and stability. They explained that the presence of female fighters is no longer an exception but has become a permanent part of the scene in northeastern Syria.

The Women's Protection Units continue to play an effective role on the ground, not only as a military force but also as a symbol of protecting the land and citizens in northeastern Syria.
