The demonstration took place in the city of Shahba in Sweida countryside and in the central Karama Square, where participants carried signs and portraits advocating for the right to determine their own political future. The protesters chanted slogans asserting the people’s right to decide their own destiny, with wide participation from all segments of the community.

This protest follows earlier demonstrations organized on August 27 in Karama Square and its surrounding areas, where protesters raised slogans calling for the withdrawal of the Transitional Government’s forces. They accused these forces of committing violations, including killings, forced displacement, and the burning of property, describing such actions as attempts to erase the identity of the local population and break their will.

The protesters emphasized their unwavering commitment to their right to live in peace and dignity on their land, stressing that their demands stem from legitimate civil and political rights.
