Women's meeting in Zurich on future of Syria, women's rights

The women's delegation from North and East Syria continued its European tour, holding a meeting in Zurich yesterday evening with feminist activists and members of the Women's Strike Center, which was attended by a large number of participants.

The discussions focused on the situation of women in North and East Syria, the March 10 Agreement, the future of Syria, the paths of dialogue between the Autonomous Administration and the transitional government, and the role of Syrian women in a future Syria.

During the meeting, the delegation stressed the need to provide political support and promote dialogue among Syrians to find a solution to the Syrian crisis, while emphasizing the protection of women's rights and the implementation of the provisions of the March 10 Agreement.

These meetings are part of a European tour the delegation began on September 6, which included France, Germany, and Switzerland. During the tour, the delegation met with political, parliamentary, and feminist figures and discussed women's issues, the humanitarian situation, the dangers of ISIS's resurgence, and ways to build a democratic, pluralistic, and decentralized Syria.

It is worth noting that the delegation includes Amina Omar, administrator of the Women's Council in North and East Syria; Mona Al-Youssef, spokesperson for the Syrian Women's Council; Shahrazad Al-Jassim, spokesperson for the Zenobia Women's Gathering; Jiyan Hussein, a member of the Kongra Star Coordination Committee; and Georgette Barsoum, head of the Syriac Women's Union. The delegation continues its European tour, which is still ongoing.
