Women’s Internal Security Forces strengthen stability in Rojava

The commander in the Internal Security Forces – Women, Halat Mohammed, spoke about the role of the women’s forces in protecting society, strengthening stability, and their direct participation in various security tasks.

Halat Mohammed explained that the Internal Security Forces – Women have intensified their patrols around the clock in neighborhoods, markets, and city entrances, especially following the movements of ISIS sleeper cells and attempts to destabilize security. She stressed that the forces have proven their ability to deal with field challenges with high professionalism and great responsibility.

She noted that the role of women is not limited only to the security aspect, but also extends to strengthening trust between society and security institutions through direct communication with residents, listening to their concerns, and addressing them within legal frameworks, which enhances the general sense of safety.

She added that women in the Internal Security Forces initially faced social reservations regarding their presence in leadership positions. However, they managed to overcome these challenges by proving their competence in managing security files, participating in planning, and supervising the implementation of tasks. She stressed that the experience has proven that women’s presence enhances the effectiveness of security work and gives it a broader social dimension.

She also pointed out that community cooperation and the public mobilization witnessed in the streets have contributed to supporting the efforts of the women’s forces, adding that solidarity among various components strengthens the security institution and preserves stability.

On the occasion of the approaching International Women’s Day (March 8), Halat Mohammed stressed that women’s experience in the Internal Security Forces represents part of a broader struggle by women to gain their rights and break the restrictions imposed on them, affirming that the forces will continue this path until security and safety are consolidated in all regions.

She concluded by calling on society to continue cooperating with the Internal Security Forces – Women and to report any suspicious movements, emphasizing that protecting society is a shared responsibility and that women will remain at the forefront of defending the security and stability of their areas in Rojava.
