Under the slogan "With the Philosophy of Women, Life, and Freedom, Let Us Work Together for Peace and Build a Free Democratic Society," the Women's Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan held a series of meetings at four women's councils in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

The meetings included: The Martyr Ruken Zardasht Council met at the Martyr Aydın basement, the Martyr Shilan Kobani Council met at March 8 Hall, and the Kule Selmo Council met in its office. The Ashrafieh Neighborhood Council met at various times in the day, and members and representatives were present.

ANHA agency attended the Martyr Ruken Zardasht Council meeting, which began with a moment of silence. Hanifa Aloush, Chair of the Council's Training Committee, then spoke of the Call for Peace and Democratic Society by Leader Abdullah Ocalan as "a turning point historical milestone in the history of the Kurdish cause and the conflict in Turkey." She went on to say that "this call holds promises and expectations of sustainable peace and an all-encompassing democratic society, but it demands collective efforts and actual political will."

She also explained that "the call represents the solution to stopping the war in the Middle East, by calling for a general conference of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) as the first step towards change and sitting at the bargaining table to negotiate on ways forward towards peace."

The floor was then opened for discussion, where the audience members were given room to voice their feelings and opinions. A number of questions were asked, touching on the emotions women experienced after the Leader's speech on Jineology, the reason behind correlating the stage of peace and democratic society with women's potential, the duties women have in bringing to fruition the emancipating ideas he offered, and why education for women played a critical role at this point.

Kongra Star member Salwa Hamdi conveyed that women are fortunate to possess what Leader Abdullah Ocalan offers them. She said, "We believe in the Leader's ability to bring an end to nationalism and identity-based conflicts and turn them into enduring peace through his free thought and democratic project."

Sawsan Kanjo, a member of the Martyr Ruken Zardasht Council, also noted that the call of the Leader responded to the demands of the situation. In her opinion, "wars have been at their peak, while the Leader revolutionized the track with his call, reshaping harsh words to a language of dialogue and negotiation with a view to reaching a democratic society."
