Women of Tirbespiyê: Our leader’s demand is peace

Women from the city of Tirbespiyê affirmed their belief in the ideology of their leader, saying that the peace process and a democratic society are linked to the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

In this context, Qadriya Khalil explained that leader Abdullah Ocalan, in all his defenses, lays the path to freedom for women in order to achieve women’s liberation. She said:

“Thanks to the leader, we were able to become active and influential members of society.”

Qadriya concluded by stressing that they will remain in continuous struggle and will not stop their activities and events until the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan is achieved.

For her part, Maqboula Mohammed stated that the leader’s call for peace and a democratic society has been supported by everyone, but that the occupying Turkish state has not taken any step in this regard.

She also pointed to the Turkish state’s interference in Syria, saying:

“The Turkish state intervenes in all aspects and does not want stability to be achieved in Rojava, so it does everything in its power. Our call to everyone is that our leader wants peace and equality, and he must be released. Leader Abdullah Öcalan saved the Kurds, and women in particular, from genocide.”

Meanwhile, Nozha Ahmed referred to the most recent call made by leader Abdullah Öcalan to Southern Kurdistan, stating:

“Through his call, Kurdish unity was strengthened and very important steps were taken. In resistance to attacks on Rojava, people rose up in the four parts of Kurdistan, and all of this was achieved based on the leader’s call to save the Kurds from genocide.”

In conclusion, Nozha Ahmed emphasized that their hope and demand is to see leader Abdullah Ocalan free in the near future, saying: “We salute the resistance of our fighters, especially the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ), and we declare our full support for them.”
