Women of Girkê Legê: liberation of leader is prerequisite for success of peace process

As the isolation of the leader Abdullah Ocalan continues, there are calls to end his isolation and liberate him, taking into account that he is the main negotiator of the peace process and that his liberation is essential for the success of the democratic resolution of the Kurdish problem.

In this connection, ANHA agency held an interview with some of the women of the city of Girkê Legê. One of the citizens, Hadiya Khalaf, said, "The isolation that was imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan for years is against international conventions and laws."

In addition, she mentioned that the leader has spent his life working for peace, and his aging makes it even more crucial to end this isolation. She made clear that stopping the isolation of the leader is one of the basic elements in the process of attaining the success of the peace process, as there will be no hope for any progress toward a solution without ending the isolation and freeing him physically due to his importance in attaining the democratic solution of the Kurdish problem.

On her side, citizen Iman Murad affirmed that the continuation of the isolation is unacceptable, and made it clear that the people of the region have been brought up based on the thoughts and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, thus demanding his freedom.

She appealed to human rights organizations to do their job in this regard, as the freedom of the leader is an essential element in solving the Kurdish problem.

Citizen Hevin Murad stated that the continued imprisonment of leader Abdullah Ocalan for 27 years constitutes a violation of human rights, urging international and human rights organizations to take action to end his isolation.

She concluded by affirming that achieving the leader's physical freedom will contribute to advancing the peace process and creating the appropriate conditions for reaching a lasting solution to the Kurdish issue.
