Widespread condemnations of desecration of Internal Security member’s body 

A mother of martyrs, a women’s movement leader, and the Chairwoman of the Women’s Authority in Jazira shared their condemnation and outrage with ANHA agency regarding the crime of abuse and desecration of the body of an Internal Security Forces member in Sheikh Maqsoud, Aleppo, committed by mercenaries of the Interim Government.

Najla Tamou, an administrator in the Şawîşka Association, stated that the mercenaries of the Interim Government and those affiliated with the Turkish state aim, through desecration of women’s bodies, to instill fear in society and break women’s will. She said: “We oppose these practices. They are neither ethical nor humane. We must unify our voices in confronting these actions.”

Najla explained that the pains and challenges faced by women are similar and shared. She emphasized that women must use their activities and efforts to raise their voices about crimes against women to the United Nations, the international community, and human rights organizations.

Hevi Al-Sayyid, mother of YPG fighter Adnan Malik, who was martyred in 2013 during an attack against “Jabhat al-Nusra” mercenaries, noted that this is not the first time these mercenary groups have committed brutal acts against the bodies of female fighters. She said: “Crimes of this kind reveal that the presence of women is a threat in their minds and show how they attempt to punish it. On the battlefield, they are always fearful of the presence of female fighters.”

Hevi continued: “Our enemy is a savage enemy, without conscience, religion, or any human standards.”

She added that she will continue following the path of her martyrs until the end, adhering to the motto “Resistance is life” as a guiding principle under all circumstances, saying: “We Kurdish women are fighters; we will never bow to our enemy.”

Rohat Khalil, Chairwoman of the Women’s Authority in Jazira, strongly condemned the crime committed against the Internal Security Forces member, asserting that international organizations and institutions that remain silent in the face of such violations are complicit. She said: “Everyone who commits these crimes must be held accountable, without exception.”

Rohat also pointed out that the attacks by mercenaries of the Interim Government on Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods constitute a violation of all humanitarian and international laws.

She added: “The primary victims of these attacks are women, who face violence, are forced to flee, and bear social and economic burdens.”

Rohat Khalil affirmed that the resistance and determination of women in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah reflect steadfastness in pursuit of life, freedom, and the future, adding: “We will continue the struggle until equality and social justice are achieved.”
