Internal Security Forces announce martyrdom of leaders Ziyad Halab, Azad Halab

The Internal Security Forces confirmed that the two members of the general leadership of the Internal Security Forces, Ziad Halab and Azad Halab, who led the resistance epic in Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh, have cemented their place in revolutionary history as prominent symbols of sacrifice and devotion. They have become a lasting symbol and legacy of a historic resistance that belongs to all the peoples of Kurdistan.

The general leadership of the Internal Security Forces revealed, in a statement, that Ziyad Halab (Ziyad Qaddour), who held a position in the general leadership of the Internal Security Forces, and fellow general leadership member Azad Halab (Waddah Salah Bilal), ascended to martyrdom with a heroic spirit during the historic resistance in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods on January 10, 2026.

The general leadership affirmed: "In the epic of the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud resistance, leaders Azad and Ziyad cemented their place in our revolutionary history as prominent symbols of sacrifice and devotion. Their stance, full of selfless courage in the face of all calls to surrender, was a choice to fight with dignity, making them a symbol and a great legacy of a historic resistance that belongs to all the peoples of Kurdistan."
