The Turkish occupying state has been escalating its aggression against the village of Silm in the western Kobani countryside for more than two months. A few days ago, it targeted two children who were grazing sheep with live ammunition. They were not injured, but the attack killed a number of sheep.

Regarding this, the villagers and one of the two children who were targeted spoke to ANHA agency.

Jamila Bouzi, one of the women in the village of Silm, stated that the Turkish occupying state is attacking the village in every way, trying to terrorize the people and force them to displace. She pointed out, "A few days ago, the Turkish occupying state shot at two children who were grazing their sheep. But the bullets did not hit them, but the sheep, killing them."

We will not leave our village because of the attacks of the occupation.

Jamila clarified that the distance from their home to the Turkish border is approximately 20 meters. She continued, "They are constantly shelling the village with heavy guns and bullets. Despite these attacks, we will never leave our home and village. We will never leave our village because of the occupation's attacks as long as we have a single drop of blood in our veins."

The two cousins, Muhammad Ramadan and Diyar Ramadan, were shot by Turkish occupation soldiers while grazing sheep.

Muhammad Ramadan gave an account of the incident, saying, "My cousin and I had gone to graze our sheep in the afternoon. There, Turkish soldiers started firing at us. We hid in a hole and ran away, but the bullets struck our sheep and killed them. They did not fire a single bullet at us, but a burst of bullets because the smoke was so thick."

The Land Is Ours

Muhammad said that the intention was to instill fear in the hearts of all the people so that they would leave the village. He continued, "We are not at all afraid of being attacked by the occupying Turkish state, and we will resist to the last breath of our lives. This is our land and property, and we will not migrate from our village."

It must be noted that the Turkish occupying state is not only targeting the village of Silm, but all the border villages. Citizens cannot get near their lands near the border to irrigate their fields and trees. Yesterday, they shelled the village of Kor Ali west of Kobani city and fired on a citizen's generator and heavily damaged it.
