Former US official warns: Turkish attacks pave way for ISIS's resurgence

 Maenza was received at the building of the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria by the Co-Chairs of the administration, Hussein Al-Othman and Avin Sweid.

Following the meeting, the Autonomous Administration, accompanied by the official at the US State Department held a press conference to explain the reasons for the visit and the discussions that took place during the meeting.

 The press conference began with the Co-Presidency of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria welcoming the American official.

 Maenza expressed her pleasure at returning to the areas of the Autonomous Administration and added, "It is very clear that these areas are very close to my heart."

 She expressed her pride in the developments that have taken place in the region, and added, "It is hard to believe that the region was occupied by ISIS mercenaries seven years ago."

 Maenza continued, "But the important thing is that the administration supported the people of the region to form a local administration that provides good freedom, and it is very impressive that this region has transformed from a capital for ISIS mercenaries to a capital for the Democratic Autonomous Administration, and I can be here among you."

 The head of the General Secretariat for International Religious Freedom has praised the work done by the Autonomous Administration in the city of Raqqa, and said, "The administration managed to fill the void and achieve security and stability by appointing highly qualified people, without whom I would not have been able to stand among you, and there are absolutely no integrated governments, but what you have done has become an example to other countries, including the United States of America."

 Maenza pointed out, "You managed to get rid of the mercenaries through the solidarity of components that was not available during the time of ISIS mercenaries."

 Maenza said in the press conference, " We see the threats of the Turkish state on NE Syria and its attacks on the infrastructure, which led to the people of the region suffering from a lack of electricity and water, and these attacks caused unrest in the region, which will pave the way for the return of ISIS mercenaries to the region."

 Maenza made the point clear, "I visited the Khabur Valley on the Khabur River, where the Syriac population there suffers from a lack of water due to these attacks, and since the last ground attack on the regions of the North and East Syria region by the Turkish state, the Turkish state has built three dams on the Balikh River to prevent the river's water from reaching the regions of NE Syria."

  "There are members of the American government who have acknowledged these attacks and their dangers and will try as much as possible to shed light on these attacks that lead to the return of ISIS mercenaries again," Maenza added.

 At the end of the conference, Nadine Maenza urged members of foreign countries, European countries and the United States to visit NE Syria and said: "They must take a correct view of the region and the Autonomous Administration project."
