U.S. airstrike kills senior ISIS leader in Syria's Al-Bab

The U.S. military conducted a precise operation in the city of Al-Bab, northern Syria, resulting in the death of a prominent ISIS leader, along with two of his sons.

The U.S. Central Command announced today that it successfully carried out an airstrike in the city of Al-Bab, Aleppo province, killing a senior ISIS leader, Zia Zoba’a Muslih Al-Hardani, along with his two sons, Abdullah and Abdul Rahman Al-Hardani, who posed a direct threat to U.S. and coalition forces.

According to the Central Command’s statement, the airstrike was executed early this morning and also targeted three women and three children at the site, with no civilian casualties reported. General Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, stated that the operation is part of the ongoing war against ISIS, adding: “We will continue to relentlessly pursue ISIS terrorists wherever they are. They will not be safe where they sleep, work, or hide.” Kurilla affirmed that the United States, in coordination with its allies and partners in the region, is committed to its stated goal of completely eliminating ISIS and preventing its reorganization or threats to regional stability.
