University of Kobani participates in international conference on Kurdish Diaspora in Bonn

The University of Kobani delegation, consisting of the university’s Co-Chair Sherwan Muslim and Director of Public Relations Ashraf Mahmoud, attended the conference following an official invitation from the organizing committee. The event brought together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and cultural and social figures.

Hosted at the Science Center in Bonn, the conference featured a series of academic sessions and discussions addressing issues related to the Kurdish diaspora, its role in building transnational networks of influence, and future prospects.

Academic Panel: “The Role of the Kurdish Diaspora in the Kurdish Cause”

The academic panel was chaired by Prof. Dr. Cinur Ghaderi of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, and featured contributions from:

Prof. Dr. Bahar Baser, Durham University, United Kingdom

The speakers explored the political, social, and cultural dimensions of the Kurdish diaspora’s role and influence.

Representing the University of Kobani, Sherwan Muslim and Ashraf Mahmoud actively engaged in the conference sessions and academic discussions.

During his address, Sherwan Muslim emphasized the pivotal role of academic institutions in strengthening scientific and cultural exchange. He also highlighted the importance of drawing upon the expertise and capabilities of the Kurdish diaspora to support higher education and advance sustainable community development.
