UNICEF stated that children in Hasakah Governorate in northeastern Syria are living under difficult conditions, amid ongoing significant humanitarian needs.

The organization explained that the current winter has been particularly harsh, with heavy snowfall and repeated flooding in the region, which has worsened the suffering of families and further deteriorated living conditions.

UNICEF also noted that the continued use of schools as temporary shelters for displaced people is directly impacting children’s access to education, putting their academic future at risk across the governorate.
