UN: Displacement of over 170,000 people due to Interim Govt's mercenaries attacks 

OCHA in Syria announced that over 170,000 people have been displaced since January 6 across Aleppo, Hasakah, and Raqqa, following recent attacks by mercenaries of the interim government.

OCHA confirmed that the United Nations and its partners continue to support the humanitarian response in northeast Syria. In this context, a joint inter-agency humanitarian convoy arrived yesterday in the city of Qamishlo, carrying food items, winter clothing, blankets, and other essential supplies, noting that “additional convoys will be dispatched in the coming days.”

The office reported that humanitarian partners continue to distribute food, bread, and cash assistance at collective shelters and accommodation sites, in addition to providing mobile health services, including vaccinations and mental health care. Screening for malnutrition was also conducted, and nutritional support was provided to more than 1,500 children, as well as hundreds of pregnant and breastfeeding women in Hasakah and its countryside.

Electricity and internet outage in Kobani

For his part, UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that partners on the ground reported that “electricity and internet services have not yet been restored in the city of Kobani,” exacerbating the suffering of residents amid difficult humanitarian conditions resulting from the siege imposed on the city by mercenaries of the interim government.

OCHA concluded by noting that since last October, humanitarian partners have provided winter assistance, including blankets, clothing, and heating supplies, to approximately 450,000 people across Syria.
