The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported the deaths of two young men in separate incidents in Idlib and rural Damascus, highlighting the ongoing state of lawlessness and widespread arms.

According to the SOHR, a young man was killed in a crime in the village of Al-Muzarah in the Jabal al-Zawiya area of rural Idlib, after being shot with a hunting rifle belonging to his uncle. The circumstances remain unclear, with reports suggesting the perpetrator suffers from psychological disorders.

In another incident in rural Damascus, a young man was killed after the car he was riding in was targeted by gunfire from unidentified individuals in the Al-Shawkatliyah area while returning to his home in the town of Sbeineh. According to the SOHR’s documented information, the victim was accompanied by his mother and sisters at the time of the attack, resulting in his immediate death.

The two incidents sparked outrage among residents, with calls for urgent investigations to clarify the circumstances of the two crimes and to hold those responsible accountable, amid recurring killings across various regions of the country due to the security vacuum and proliferation of weapons.
