Two US officials: Iranian attack is imminent within 48 hours
Two US officials warned that Iran could launch a retaliatory attack against US forces in the Middle East within the next two days, in response to the recent US strikes targeting nuclear facilities inside Iran.

Two US officials stated today that assessments indicate that Iran may carry out retaliatory attacks targeting US forces in the Middle East soon, despite the United States' pursuit of a diplomatic solution that would ensure Tehran refrains from any attack.
One of the officials said, "An Iranian retaliatory attack could occur within the next day or two."
The two officials also indicated that Washington is still seeking a diplomatic solution with Iran.
Tehran threatened Washington on Monday with "severe consequences" in response to the unprecedented US strikes on nuclear sites in Iran, as the war between it and Israel entered its eleventh day.
Iranian Armed Forces Spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari declared, "This aggressive action will expand the scope of legitimate targets for the Iranian Armed Forces and pave the way for expanding the war in the region." He threatened in a video broadcast on state television that the fighters "will inflict unforeseeable and severe consequences upon you with powerful and targeted operations."
Zolfaghari said that recent US hostile actions have expanded the scope of legitimate targets for the Iranian Armed Forces.
He added at the end of his recorded statement, "Mr. Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will finish it."
