The early hours of this morning in the city of Homs, specifically at the Bayada roundabout, witnessed a turbulent event in the form of a violent armed clash between members of the transitional government forces in Syria and armed groups affiliated with them belonging to al-Fawa'ra and al-Mwalien families.

This clash resulted in casualties, including a young man from al-Fawa'ra and another from al-Mwalien, which contributed to deepening the already tense security situation in Homs and its countryside.

Since the incident occurred, the city has witnessed escalating security tension and anxiety among citizens fearing military escalation.

This escalation comes within the context of the ongoing state of tension that is worsening day by day between the transitional government and those armed groups affiliated with it, against the backdrop of an unprecedented spread of weapons and the alleged security agencies' inability to play any real role in restoring order or imposing control over the increasing chaos and growing anxiety among the city's residents.

The deteriorating security conditions are casting their shadows on all aspects of life there, with the absence of security becoming the most prominent feature of this turbulent phase.
