The Civil Defense, operating under the Syrian Transitional Government’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, announced via its official website the latest figures regarding traffic accidents and fires across Syria yesterday.

It confirmed 15 traffic accidents in various parts of the country, resulting in two fatalities and injuries to 16 civilians.

Additionally, 124 fires were recorded nationwide: five involving agricultural fields and crops, and 119 others affecting homes, commercial shops, and other locations. These incidents resulted in minor injuries to one citizen.

The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed, ensure their vehicles are in good mechanical condition—specifically checking brakes and windshield wipers—and avoid distractions while driving, particularly the use of mobile phones. It also called on the public to refrain from lighting fires in forests and agricultural fields and to avoid discarding cigarette or glass containers along roadsides.
