Turkish State seeks pretexts to obstruct peace process

In Qamishlo, Arab residents of Jazira Canton spoke to ANHA Agency regarding the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the call for peace and a democratic society, and the peace process in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.

Suad Abdullah, the member of Kongra Star in the city of Al-Arisha, demanded the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, saying: “He paved the path of freedom for all peoples, particularly for women. Arab women, in particular, have been liberated from the constraints imposed on them through the philosophy of Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

Abdullah also highlighted leader Ocalan’s call for peace and the Turkish state’s continued refusal to take any concrete steps toward it. She noted that, in contrast, the Kurdish liberation movement has taken the necessary steps, while Turkey continues to seek excuses and manipulations to obstruct the process.

Mohammad Al-Shammari, the Co-Chair of the People’s Council in Tal Hamis, said that he became acquainted with the concept of the democratic nation, the idea of coexistence, and the thoughts of Leader Abdullah Ocalan through the Democratic Society Movement and the building of communes.

He stated: “Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s manifesto represents a solution to the problems of all peoples, as the Middle East is home to many ethnicities, communities, and languages. The concept of the democratic nation provides a solution for all components.”

Al-Shammari explained that they have condemned the isolation and imprisonment of the leader in various events, adding: “We will continue our activities until he is allowed to meet with his lawyers and the public whenever he wishes.”

Dallal Al-Shibli, the member of the Executive Council of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Tal Kocher, stated that Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideas were developed to encompass all nationalities and to guarantee the rights of all peoples, tribes, and clans through his project — the Democratic Nation Project.

She added: “The Turkish state does not want peace, nor does it want to see stability and social cohesion strengthened in the Autonomous Region of North and East Syria.”
