Turkish Parliament discusses “Social Unity, National Solidarity” bill

The Turkish Parliament has begun debating a bill on “Strengthening Social Unity and National Solidarity,” drafted as part of the “Peace and Democratic Society Process.” The bill’s articles will be discussed after lawmakers hear statements both in support of and in opposition to the proposed legislation.

On Monday, the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament began debating the “Strengthening Social Unity and National Solidarity” bill, drafted as part of the “Peace and Democratic Society Process,” after it was placed on the parliament’s agenda.

The session is being chaired by Celal Adan, a member of the parliament’s Presidency Council representing the Nationalist Movement Party.

Following the bill’s inclusion on the agenda, the leaders of political parties or their representatives are expected to deliver speeches on the bill. Statements in support of the bill will be heard first, followed by those opposing it.

Once the speeches conclude, the General Assembly will begin a general debate on the bill before moving on to discuss its articles and provisions separately.
