Turkish occupation launches 774 attacks in 4 days on Medya defense areas
The People's Defense Forces (HPG) confirmed that the Turkish occupation army launched a total of 774 attacks on the Medya defense areas within just four days, using warplanes, attack helicopters, as well as heavy weapons and artillery.
The Media Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) issued a statement regarding the Turkish occupation's attacks on the Medya defense areas, stating:
“Turkish occupation attacks with warplanes and attack helicopters:
On May 6, 7, and 8, the Turkish occupation army bombed the resistance area of Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area west of Zap twice using warplanes and attack helicopters. It also bombed the areas of Gri Kon, Kani Sark, and Gri Siser five times. In total, these areas were bombed seven times.
On May 7, Turkish attack helicopters bombed the resistance area of Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area west of Zap twice.
Turkish occupation attacks with heavy weapons and artillery:
On May 5, 6, and 7, the Turkish occupation army shelled the resistance areas of Bire Zine, Martyr Sharif, and Sanin in the Khakurk area 23 times using heavy weapons and artillery. It also shelled the resistance areas of Yekmal, Zivik, Miji, Karkash, Gri Kon, Derish, Dashta Kafya, and Gri Siser in the Gara area 124 times, the resistance areas of Darkel, Shelaz, and Bishil in the Metina area 154 times, and the resistance areas of Amadiya Hill and Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil area west of Zap 464 times. In total, these areas were shelled 765 times.
Our forces’ response to these attacks:
On May 6, our forces targeted Turkish occupation soldiers in an attacking position in the resistance area of Baz in Metina with sniper operations.On May 6, our forces also confronted Turkish occupation soldiers attacking our tunnels with explosive drones in the resistance area of Darkel in Metina using semi-automatic weapons.”
