Turkish occupation bombards Medya defense areas with prohibited weapons

According to HPG, between February 12 and 17, 2025, the Medya defense areas were heavily bombarded by Turkish warplanes. In response, the Guerrilla forces carried out a series of operations targeting occupation soldiers and their military equipment.

Today, Monday, the HPG media center released a detailed statement on the Guerrilla operations and the attacks by the Turkish occupation army. The statement included the following:

“Martyr Delil Region, west of Zap:

- On February 12, at 11:05 a.m., our forces destroyed a solar-powered surveillance camera and a sniper eavesdropping device in the resistance area of Amedya Hill.

-On February 12, at 1:40 p.m. and 1:55 p.m., our forces targeted occupation soldiers three times with heavy weapons in the resistance area of Amedya Hill. These operations resulted in the destruction of a surveillance camera, a DShK 57 heavy machine gun, and a remote sensor device.

Khakurk Region:

-On February 15, at 9:20 a.m., the Free Women’s Units – Star targeted occupation soldiers stationed at Martyr Hemin Hill with heavy weapons in the resistance area of Sinin.

Metina Region:

-On February 12, at 11:05 a.m., our forces targeted occupation soldiers with heavy weapons in the resistance area of Serê Metina.

-On February 16, at 9:20 a.m., the Free Women’s Units – Star destroyed one of the surveillance cameras belonging to the occupation soldiers in the resistance area of Serê Metina.

Turkish occupation army attacks with prohibited weapons:

-On February 12, our tunnels in the resistance area of Amedya Hill in the Martyr Delil region, west of Zap, were bombed three times with prohibited weapons.

-On February 15, our tunnels in the resistance area of Jodi Hill in the Martyr Delil region – West Zap, were bombed once with prohibited weapons.

Turkish occupation army attacks:

-Between February 12 and 17, Turkish warplanes bombed the resistance areas of Martyr Sherîf, Kendekola, Sinin, and Goshine in the Khakurk region 12 times. The resistance areas of Bepala, Kotoman, Hill 23, Bokriskan, Qelate, and Martyr Akid Hill in the Qandil region were bombed 6 times. The resistance areas of Kani Sarke, Yekmale, Deresh, Bilindbaze, Kun Hill, Reshid Hill, Cemrobotki, and Khere in the Garê region were bombed 14 times. The resistance areas of Beshile, Serê Metina, and Shilaza in the Metina region were bombed 8 times. The resistance areas of Johi Hill, Amedya Hill, and Bahar Hill in the Martyr Delil region, west of Zap, were bombed 11 times. Thus, the total number of airstrikes by Turkish warplanes reached 51 times.
