Turkish attacks disable Kobani’s power plant 

Since last night and up until the time this report was prepared, the city of Kobani has been subjected to intense shelling by Turkish drones, targeting the city center and public and service facilities, causing material damage, including to the power plant in Kobani, which supplies electricity to the city center and nearby villages.

The Energy Body in the Euphrates Canton confirmed in a statement that the plant is now out of service.

The statement was read by Aisha Nasser, co-chair of the Energy Body in the Euphrates Canton, in the presence of members of energy department in the city, in front of the city’s electricity directorate.

The statement read: "After midnight on Wednesday and in the early hours of Thursday morning, the Turkish occupation targeted the region's infrastructure. Among these targets was the 66/20 KVA transformer station, which supplies Kobani and its countryside, leading to the station going out of service.

This is the second time the transformer station in Kobani has been targeted. This repeated barbaric aggression clearly expresses Turkey’s hostility toward our people in North and East Syria, and it serves as a stark reminder of the criminal Turkish mindset’s danger to the people and peace of the region. It also represents Turkey’s attempt to export its internal crises at the expense of our people, spreading chaos and pushing the region toward further tensions."

The Turkish occupation state continues its shelling of various areas in the Euphrates Canton with heavy weapons and drones, in addition to intensified surveillance flights over the Euphrates Canton.
