A local source from the occupied Girê Spi province reported that the so-called “Tal Abyad Local Council” affiliated with the Turkish occupation had dismissed 6 of its employees over their objection to naming public facilities (schools, streets, and parks) with Turkish names.

The source pointed out that the so-called "Anti-terrorism forces" arrested them all on charges of incitement and stirring up strife.

ANHA agency was able to know the identity of 3 of them, namely: Anas Al-Dakhil, Muhammad Ruwaished, and Mansour Al-Dandal.

Since Turkey and its mercenaries occupied Girê Spi province, in October 2019, it began to pursue a policy of Turkification within it by imposing the Turkish language and currency, in addition to naming public facilities with Turkish nationalist names and symbols, which is rejected and opposed by the few remaining people of the occupied province.

Last month, ANHA agency documented the dismissal of 5 teachers in the occupied Girê Spi province who refused to teach the Turkish language.
