According to a proposal by the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), three new members will join the "Committee for National Support, Brotherhood, and Democracy," replacing those not appointed by the İYİ Party.

As reported by ANF News Agency, the proposal was supported by several parties, including the Republican People's Party (CHP), the Justice and Development Party (AKP), and the New Path Party.

Kelisdan Kılıç Koçyiğit, the Co-Deputy chair of the DEM Party, stated that this support paved the way for the official adoption of the decision at the committee’s upcoming meeting scheduled for August 28.

Under the decision, one member will be chosen from each of the following: the DEM Party, CHP, and AKP. The names will be announced later.

With this change, the DEM Party will now have five representatives in the committee, compared to 11 for the CHP and 22 for the AKP.

Earlier today, the committee officially adopted the name “Committee for National Support, Brotherhood, and Democracy” after internal debates that sparked political controversy.

Today’s session also saw the discussion and unanimous approval of a draft internal regulation consisting of 12 articles, establishing the committee’s legal working framework.

The second session of the committee is scheduled for Friday, August 8, at 11:30 a.m., allowing time for MPs who were unable to speak in the inaugural meeting.
