Trump announces end of naval blockade on Iran

In a post on his platform Truth Social, Trump announced that the naval blockade on Iran would now be lifted. He wrote: “Ships stranded in the strait because of the incredible and unprecedented naval blockade that we are now lifting can begin the process of ‘going home!’”

According to Trump’s post, Iran must immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted maritime traffic in both directions without transit fees, and work to remove all naval mines, if any remain. He added that many mines had already been destroyed using advanced U.S. naval minesweepers.

On the nuclear issue, Trump wrote: “Iran must agree that it will not possess a nuclear weapon or nuclear bomb. The enriched material, sometimes referred to as ‘nuclear dust,’ buried deep underground beneath nearly collapsed mountains as a result of the powerful B-2 bomber attack we carried out 11 months ago, will be extracted by the United States — which, along with China, is agreed to be the only country with the mechanical capability to do so — in close coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and then destroyed.”

On frozen funds, Trump stated: “No money will be exchanged until further notice, as other far less important terms have been agreed upon. I will now meet in the Situation Room to make the final decision.”
