Netanyahu: Israeli forces crossed Litani River

Netanyahu said during a visit to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon: “I came here with the defense minister, the deputy chief of staff, the commander of the northern region, the division commander, the commanders you see here, and the soldiers on the ground.”

He added: “I spoke with the brigade commanders currently inside the area. I am listening to them and also to the soldiers standing behind me here. There is tremendous fighting spirit here. From here, the battle against Hezbollah in the north is being managed.”

The Israeli prime minister continued: “I must tell you that there are extremely impressive results here. Our forces crossed the Litani River and advanced to strategic high-ground positions. We are also operating in Beirut and the Bekaa Valley along the entire front, delivering crushing blows to Hezbollah.”

He stressed: “When I say this, it is not just empty words. Brigade commanders and soldiers tell me that in every encounter and clash, we are eliminating Hezbollah fighters and forcing them to flee as well.”

The Israeli army has intensified its attacks on various areas of Lebanon, particularly over the past few days.
