Our correspondent from Aleppo reported today that armed men affiliated with the transitional government in Syria arbitrarily kidnapped three young men on the pretext that they possessed pictures of Kurdish symbols, at checkpoints erected on the Aleppo-Deir Hafer road, as repressive practices against citizens continue.

He explained that the kidnapped men do not hold any military or security positions and were kidnapped on nationalistic and political grounds. He noted that the names of the kidnapped men are: Bashir Muhammad Hussein, Haidar Abboud Isso, and Samer Sallan Abdul Qadir.

The security checkpoints belonging to the transitional government forces in Syria have become tools for suppressing, harassing, and kidnapping citizens, which brings to mind the practices of the previous Ba'athist regime's checkpoints and indicates that no change has occurred in Syria.
