Thousands protest against attacks on NE Syria

On October 27, Turkish occupation mercenaries launched widespread attacks on rural Afrin and Shahba, coinciding with assaults by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham mercenaries on Aleppo’s countryside. They managed to seize several neighborhoods following the withdrawal of Damascus government forces, resulting in the displacement of thousands of families from Afrin and Shahba to Tabqa on December 2.

In response, thousands of Euphrates Canton residents protested these attacks. Today, they marched from the Free Woman Square in central Kobani to Martyr Akid Square, carrying olive branches and banners with images of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The march was organized under the slogan, "With the Resistance of Rojava and NE Syria, We Will Defeat the Occupation."

We Will Prevail

Upon arriving at Martyr Akid Square, the participants observed a minute of silence, followed by a speech from Arifa Bali, Co-chair of the Environment Committee in the Euphrates Canton. She affirmed that the people would continue to resist until the end and that victory against the occupation would be achieved through struggle.

Arifa Bali stated: “The Resistance of the Century was written with the blood of our children and will continue to be written. Through this, we will defeat the occupation. We, in the Autonomous Administration, salute the resistance of our people.”

She also highlighted that Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham mercenaries and Turkish occupation mercenaries take their orders from Erdogan, who exploits and plunders nations. “We have declared a general mobilization, and with this enthusiasm, we will achieve victory,” she concluded.
