QAMISHLO

Under the slogan "The Physical Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan Is the Key to Solution and Establishment of Peace," in Kurdish, Arabic, and Syriac, the Kongra Star organized a massive women's rally in the city of Qamishlo, in Jazira region.

Thousands of women from the cities of Qamishlo; Tirbê Spîyê, Derik, Tel Kocer, Tel Hamis, Jel Agha, Girkê Legê, and Amuda gathered at the Haytham Kajo Stadium, where they formed circles for traditional dances and raised victory signs, in a scene that embodied enthusiasm and determination to demand the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan. The activity began with holding a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs.

Then, Berivan Khaled, the member of the Kongra Star Coordination, delivered a speech in which she saluted Leader Abdullah Ocalan and highlighted his resistance and the women's struggle, saying, "Twenty-seven years ago, the world conspired against us and wanted to silence the voice of the struggle, but we confronted them through resistance."

She added, "The leader has called for peace and a democratic society, and for 27 years, he has been advocating for the establishment of a democratic society based on equality. However, malevolent forces have prevented these initiatives from continuing."

She pointed to the leader's latest call for peace, "We, as a people, support this call. Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the Kurdistan Liberation Movement have taken numerous steps in this direction, including the withdrawal of the Guerrilla members from Turkey. Yet, the Turkish state has not taken any steps." She continued, "Let them know that we will support the leader's call with the same determination with which we began the revolution. We will continue to struggle in the streets to achieve freedom for our leader and guarantee his legitimate right; the right to hope."

She emphasized the importance of this right, saying, "We reiterate our demand for his right to hope, especially since he is the one who gave hope to peoples and women, and peace and freedom in the Middle East cannot be achieved without him." She concluded her speech with a call, saying, "We, Kurdish, Arab, and Syriac women, demand the freedom of the leader, as international organizations must abide by their resolutions concerning the right to hope."

Samira Hanna, the member of the Syriac Union, also read a statement in Syriac on behalf of Syriac women, affirming that the leader described the Syriac people as an ancient people possessing a fundamental civilization to the project of co-existence, and that he presented a humanitarian project for building a democratic society based on equality among peoples.

She added that the patriarchal mentality has destroyed the power of women and society in the Middle East, and that the leader guarantees the freedom of women and society, considering the demand for his freedom a moral and humanitarian duty.

For her part, Badia Abdel Rahman, the administrator in the Democratic Union Party in Tel Hamis, delivered a speech in Arabic, noting the women's gathering in support of the greater struggle. She stated that leader Abdullah Ocalan launched the Manifesto for Peace and Democracy amidst the turmoil of violence, making it a document for humanity, aimed at building the Middle East, preserving the dignity of its peoples, and overthrowing regimes of injustice, occupation, and tyranny through a democratic project. She emphasized that the initiative demonstrates that the strength of the Kurdish, Arab, Syriac, and Assyrian peoples lies in their diversity and in building a shared democratic future.

The event concluded with a performance by artist Berivan Botan from the Hilal Zerin Center in Qamishlo, who sang about the struggle of leader Abdullah Ocalan, commemorated the martyrs, and dedicated the first song to the mothers of the martyrs, before the event concluded after several more songs.
