SDF refutes, with video evidence, Interim Govt’s narrative about attack Tishrin Dam

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) refuted, through a video release, attempts by the Interim Government’s forces to mislead public opinion, confirming that the deaths of its members near the Tishrin Dam countryside were caused by the explosion of a landmine planted by factions affiliated with the Interim Government itself, and not as a result of an external strike, as claimed by the Ministry of Defense.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Thursday denied responsibility for the deaths of several members of the Interim Government’s forces in the Tishrin Dam countryside, affirming that the incident resulted from a landmine explosion planted by factions under the Interim Government, not from a missile strike as alleged by its Ministry of Defense.

In a statement published by its Media Center, the SDF said:

“The claim made by the Ministry of Defense is entirely false, and the field evidence and visual documentation obtained by our center refute it in full.”

The statement added that the video footage shows the evacuation of the government forces’ bodies from the explosion site and clearly indicates that the injuries came from below, confirming that:

“The explosion occurred directly underneath the personnel in a vertical manner,”
which provides conclusive evidence that it was an internal blast caused by a landmine, not by external shelling.

The statement also noted that the evacuation operation was conducted “without any security measures or protective precautions,” which, according to the SDF, “demonstrates that there was no hostile force or intent of direct targeting in the area.”

The SDF accused the Interim Government’s Ministry of Defense of “attempting to mislead public opinion and cover up its field mistakes through fabricated narratives and false accusations,” reaffirming its commitment to “transparency and credibility in conveying facts to the public” and calling on media outlets not to be drawn into official misinformation statements.

The SDF attached video footage supporting the details included in its statement.
