As part of popular activities in Rojava denouncing the ongoing attacks and threats against the region and in support of Kurdish unity residents of the cities of Amuda and Ad-Darbasiyah in al-Jazira Canton took to the streets in two large-scale marches on the “Global Day of Support for Rojava.”

In the city of Amuda, the march set off from Free Woman Square, with thousands of residents participating alongside members of civil and military institutions and the families of martyrs. Participants carried portraits of martyrs, the Kurdistan flag, and banners reading “Long Live Kurdish Unity,” while chanting slogans such as “Long Live the Resistance,” “Long Live the Rojava Resistance,” and “The Kurdish People Are One.”

Upon reaching Martyr Jihad Square, the participants observed a minute of silence. Hanaa Khaled, an administrator in the Schools Administration, then delivered a speech praising the resistance of Rojava and the steadfastness of the people and fighters. She said:

“Every people and homeland has its own culture and identity. The Kurdish people are known for a culture of peace, as they have always sought peace and stability. However, other parties have chosen the path of war and destruction.”

She added:

“We will protect our regions, remain in the squares, and continue to resist until we obtain our rights and until these rights are enshrined in the Syrian constitution, no matter how long it takes and no matter how great the sacrifices.”

The march concluded with chants hailing the resistance of Rojava.

In a related development, thousands of residents in the city of Ad-Darbasiyah along with members of civil institutions and councils, youth and women’s movements and organizations, and representatives of political parties in the city took part in a mass march that began at Free Woman Square and headed toward Gardenia Roundabout in the city center, chanting slogans in support of the Rojava resistance.

After reaching Gardenia Roundabout, participants observed a minute of silence. Suleiman Khalil, a member of the Popular Initiative in Ad-Darbasiyah, then delivered a speech praising the resistance and steadfastness of the peoples of Rojava and their struggle to protect their existence in the face of genocidal attacks.

Khalil said:

“The response of the people of Kurdistan to the call for general mobilization in Rojava has drawn the attention of the entire world to the region and has proven to the world that the Kurds do not surrender; rather, they struggle for their rights. It has strengthened national spirit and unified the ranks of the Kurdish people to protect Kurdish existence against genocidal attacks.”

He emphasized that the mobilization remains ongoing, as does their legitimate struggle, stating:

“We will continue the resistance on the path of the martyrs and the path of national unity until we achieve our legitimate rights. Resistance is our only option.”

The march concluded with chants celebrating the resistance of Rojava and the unity of the Kurdish people.
