According to human rights organizations in Iran, a detainee in Qarchak Prison lost her life because she was deprived of essential medical care.

Iranian human rights organizations issued a statement regarding the death of Soudabeh Asadi, noting that she had been suffering from serious health conditions, but the authorities failed to provide her with the required medical attention, leading to her death inside the prison.

The statement added that Asadi passed away on September 15 due to the absence of medical care and supervision, but the announcement of her death was delayed.

At the same time, judicial authorities and the prison administration continue to maintain silence over her death.

Available information indicates that Soudabeh Asadi followed both Jamileh Azizi and Somayeh Rashidi, who had previously died in prison. However, the announcement of Asadi’s death came late, and no photos of her have been released so far.

Political detainee Somayeh Rashidi, imprisoned in Qarchak Prison in Tehran, died on Thursday (September 25) after her health deteriorated. She had been transferred 11 days earlier to Mofatteh Boroumand Hospital.

This came just days after the Iranian Human Rights Organization announced the death of another political detainee, Jamileh Azizi, in the same prison, due to lack of medical care and the authorities’ disregard for her condition.
