Syrians reject impunity: No justice without holding regime figures; Turkish mercenaries accountable

 Syrians rejected the justification of the so-called "Civil Peace Committee," formed by the Damascus authorities, for not holding Fadi Saqr, the former leader of the "National Defense" affiliated with the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime and accused of committing massacres in southern Damascus, considering his pardon a disregard for the rights of victims and an undermining of the principle of justice.

Activists considered Saqr's involvement in the "civil peace" process to be a legitimization of impunity, warning that the lack of accountability could push people to seek revenge and undermine confidence in the state.

Others pointed out that the lack of justice is not limited to regime figures, but also includes mercenaries and leaders of groups affiliated with the Turkish occupation, who have also committed violations without accountability.

In light of this, demands are growing for comprehensive accountability for all those whose hands are stained with the blood of Syrians, regardless of their position or the party protecting them. This is because true civil peace is not built on deals, but on justice.
